The generosity of a local donor has led the way for Jennings to enhance our level of service to those living independently on campus. The Sanson Company made a substantial gift that enables Jennings to outfit a small commercial kitchen adjoining the community room at St. Rita Senior Apartments.
“This charitable gift is an important component in the model of aging in place at Jennings Senior Apartments,” said the director of development and donor relations at Jennings. “This equipment will be key not only in dining preparation, but also allows us to be forward-thinking about future opportunities.”
The new kitchen equipment will better facilitate opportunities for dining services activities. The funding provides equipment as well as a vehicle to properly transport other catering needs. The convenient LunchBunch service helps to offset other factors that may prevent senior adults from proper nutrition, such as restricted low-income budgets or inability to go shopping or cook due to weakness.
“This is a great asset to the campus,” notes Executive Chef Michael Mills. “It truly enhances the level of service that we can provide on campus.”
