Spirituality and YOU: Embracing the Saints

Monday, September 29, 2014

in News

This week we celebrate two great saints: Saint Therese on October 1, and Saint Francis of Assisi on October 4th, each of whom teaches us to embrace our littleness, like the birds of the air. We also celebrate the name day of Pope Francis, a man who encourages us to live simply and with great joy.

Sometimes we look at ourselves and wonder what we have to share with the world. Let’s practice St. Therese’s “Little Way,” and offer our smallest actions with great love. We will make the world a better place!

Sister Valerie Sweeney, SND, is the Director of Mission and Ministry at Jennings Center for Older Adults. She offers weekly reflections in writing “Spirituality and You.”
