“Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.”

Sister Valerie Sweeney, SND, is the Director of Mission and Ministry at Jennings. She contributes Spirituality and You as a regular reflection.

Jennings is proud to be recognized by ERC as one of Northeast Ohio’s best places to work for ten consecutive years. Jennings received a Legacy Award for this accomplishment, along with other 2015 NorthCoast 99 winners, at a recognition dinner September 24 at Executive Caterers at Landerhaven in Mayfield Heights.

“Being a 10 year recipient of the NorthCoast 99 gives Jennings the affirmation to continue putting resources and our best efforts into being a great employer,” said Allison Q. Salopeck, President and CEO at Jennings. “The fact that the staff are surveyed, and it is from those results that impact whether or not we are a recipient, is the most rewarding. Being  a NorthCoast 99 Legacy Winner impacts recruitment in that others see that those who work at Jennings are highly satisfied and it impacts retention to know that you work for an organization who stands out among others as worthy of this distinction.”

NorthCoast 99 is an annual recognition program that honors 99 great workplaces for top talent in Northeast Ohio. The program was developed and is presented by ERC. ERC is Northeast Ohio’s leading and largest professional organization dedicated to HR practices, programs and services.

“We’ve been very excited to see the stories from this year’s NorthCoast 99 winning organizations, and how they’ve created cultures for Top Performers to thrive. NorthCoast 99 has transformed from a workplace competition to a movement. We see it every day and are gratified that more and more local CEOs are shifting towards a great workplace strategy,” comments Pat Perry, ERC’s president.

“To be recognized as a NorthCoast 99 employer 10 years in a row speaks to the high caliber of our staff members and their performance each and every day,” notes Denise Smudla, Director of Human Resources at Jennings. “It is a great honor to stand aside other top Northeast Ohio employers who are also known for being a great place to work.  This recognition enhances our ability to attract and add top talent to our team and fulfill our goal of excellence.”

This is the 16th year for the NorthCoast 99 award, which recognizes organizations for their ability to maintain great workplaces that support the attraction, retention, and motivation of Top Performers. The program was developed and is presented by ERC ( ERC is the area’s leading professional services organization dedicated to HR. Services provided by ERC include Compensation surveys, HR Help Desk, HR & Workplace compliance information, employee and management training, HR Consulting and health insurance for small and mid-size business.
