Over the last week, we celebrated Thanksgiving Thursday, then shopped Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday. This advent season, as we wait in joyful hope in the spirit of togetherness, #GivingTuesday is a day to prove that giving back to our communities is part of a great tradition of philanthropy and volunteerism that helps make this nation strong. Jennings Center for Older Adults invites you to click here to support its non-profit mission of serving older adults in Northeast Ohio.
Think of an older person who has touched your life in a meaningful way – a parent, grandparent, neighborhood friend. Imagine the type of care you would like them to receive in their senior years. It is our honor to celebrate the lives of older adults, listen to their wisdom, and provide support and friendship in times of need at Jennings Center for Older Adults.
Life-affirming relationships characterize our day-to-day work and demonstrate our commitment to give the best of ourselves. At the same time, older adults have had a tremendous influence on our lives. Sharing insights, knowledge, and understanding, those who have come before us show us the way and serve as role models for younger generations.
This Giving Tuesday, Jennings invites you to support an environment where older adults continue to live, learn and love. Faithful to Monsignor Jennings’ call to provide charitable assistance to those with limited means, our depth of caring would not be possible without the financial support of people like you. Your support provides an environment where older adults continue to live, learn and love.
“Giving Tuesday is a counter narrative to Black Friday and Cyber Monday because it reminds us that the spirit of the holiday giving season should be about community and not just consumerism,” said Kathy Calvin, CEO of the UN Foundation “The most meaningful gift we can give our children, loved ones, friends and neighbors is the commitment to work together to help build a better world.”
